Fine Replacement Remote Oct 15, 2008
By Gregory Nichols
"A2-Gamer"
We bought this remote for our in-laws as their original Sony TV remote finally broke down. This is a fine replacement remote especially for older people that may need larger buttons due to eyesight issues (or anyone with dexterity problems). The only drawback is that it doesn't light up so you can't see it well in a dark room. But the channel and sound buttons are large enough and located together at the bottom of the remote so finding them is pretty easy even in the darkest of rooms.

Can't program on my TV May 02, 2009
By One Firs Liked the look and feel of the remote for "older" hands and fingers and simplicity. However, it would not program for our Sylvania. Called Sony and the young woman had me clear it and start again with the 1- 4 # program code and then search, etc., which I had already done, but you never know when you miss something. No success and she stated that it won't program on some TV's. Had to send it back.

Great Little Remote Jul 13, 2009
By D. Miller Bought this for a stroke victim with limited mobility in his hand and it works great for him. The buttons are larger and that is a great help. Only works on 2 devices which is perfect for the TV & Direct Tv - sometimes simple is better. In the past we have purchased Sony remotes that do not work with the Dish system, we did not try this one on Dish, just Directv. One other note - the product description is incorrect - the remote is NOT 11" long - they must have measured the packaging. So if you are looking for one of those very large remotes, this is not it. This one is about 5 - 6" long, but good button size for those that need that feature.

Number pad too complicated for users with dementia Jul 17, 2010
By Pierre Tabbo I thought I had found the perfect solution when I ordered this remote for my mother who has dementia and was getting confused with the remote that came with her TV. This remote has a minimum number of buttons and the numbers are large. However, in order to change the channel from the number pad, you must key in the channel number and then push the "." key and then the "enter" key.
