Just Right for my Mom Feb 11, 2007
By Debby My Mom came home from rehab and needed an easy way to reach her remote, pills, magazines, eat breakfast... and still get the table out of the way so she could reach her walker. This type of tray was very useful in rehab. However she didn't want something the looked like the hospital. The white top with a space for a drink and pens and pencils that don't roll away when you move the tray was perfect. She liked the white top (vs. the wood grain in rehab) since she could tell when it was really clean. She was also pleased with the foot rest as part of the base. This was perfect. The reason I rated this at 4 stars and not 5 stars was that the bed kit came with one incorrect size nut so I had to go to the hardware store.

Thumbs Down - Too Wobbly and poorly constructed. Jun 13, 2009
By Gayle Hirschberger I thought this would be a great item to assist me with my work in bed as that's where I now reside 95% of the time due to permanent disability. I use my laptop to manage my household, the bills, shopping etc. from my bed but the laptop cannot rest on my legs due to the pain it causes. After assembling it, much to my dismay, the first time I rolled it towards me the whole shebang nearly toppled and everything I use was not yet on the table. It has a lip on it which is a good idea and then a pre-formed cup holder edge, maybe 3/8 deep that if your vision is impaired you will inevitably miss the mark and spill your beverage. It also was not very well constructed for even the intended purpose of a simple overbed table. I was not able to use it longer than a half hour as the tray bent horribly when anything was placed on it. I surely wouldn't even trust cutting meat on my plate for fear of upsetting the whole table.
The brace leg is plastic and not sturdy at all and the assembly directions are terribly lacking. If I hadn't assembled the one I currently use I would have barely a clue on the tension screws and other details I was extremely disappointed with this purchase and would not recommend it to anyone.

carex overbed table Mar 04, 2006
By Bob H. This was a very good deal! It is strong enough to hold my 23" TV and DVD player and allows me to enjoy movies in bed, up close witout my glasses! Also it was half the price of all other sites I found it advertised on, and Amazon included free shipping!
(My wife would have preferred it was attractive perhaps made of wood, but I can't really subtract stars for that.)

poorly made Oct 08, 2005

I purchased this table from another vendor--the table top was welded poorly and tilted down at such an angle when it was put together that anything you set on it would fall off. It also does not support nearly the weight that it is listed to support. The table bounced up and down easily if you put any pressure on the table top. I promptly returned this table.

Get this table !!! Aug 18, 2008
By Jennifer I searched all over for the perfect overbed table, don't waste money on those expensive wood ones or the cheap wood ones that are not sturdy. Those all have drawback, get this table its perfect !!!
This table is very sturdy, adjusts to any height, holds my huge and heavy 17" Dell laptop and still has room for other little things I need to have close. I use it with an adjustable bed for my arthritis and its heaven ! If your bed isn't tall enough for it to slide under just do what I did and get 4 little bed lift things at walmart in the housewares/plastics section for only 9 bucks. It works great with chairs and recliners too because of the U shape instead of the "I" shape bottem most other overbed tables have.
This is not a cheap plastic table, very very sturdy and it wipes clean very easily unlike the wood overbed tables that can mildew and warp. No worries about spills or stains if you eat on it, just wipe clean ! Amazon is also the cheapest I found it, other sites sell it for 200-300 dollars.
I have had this for over a year now and its still in perfect condition, I use it everyday. Better than TV trays, laptop trays etc etc, kids, elderly, anyone will LOVE this table. And if you or a loved one need it for medical reasons like I do its a real lifesaver.
