Cheaply Priced but Not Cheaply Made Jul 02, 2008
By beesquare This is a good made-in-China alternative to similar seats costing much more. The main difference seems to be the wooden seat. It may or may not be genuine teak, but it looks like it, and it comes with a permanent finish... you don't have to oil it or coat it with polyurethane; it is ready to use out of the box. On the other hand, if you want the wood to be fine oiled furniture or to take on the unfinished weathered look, then you will have to go with one of the higher priced similar seats. The finish on this seat looks a bit uneven or thin in places, however the water beads up on it. So the finish is good to start, and we will see how long it holds up. The legs are well made and easily assembled to the seat without tools. The legs have soft rubber feet of good quality that protect against slipping. The triangular shape allows the seat to be big enough to sit on while taking up less space, but it still takes up a lot of the shower. For stability, the legs protrude a bit beyond the width of the seat itself. I have uploaded several photos in various stages of assembly... unfortunately Amazon gets them out of order; no way I can fix this. It will give a good preview of what to expect before you buy.

Great for the price May 26, 2008
By Ladydi I wanted a shower seat that didn't look too "elderly", but didn't want to pay $90 for one. This one seems to have all the features of the other $90 teak ones, but is a third the price. I like the adjustable height option for the legs. The seat is big enough for an adult to feel comfortable and stable. To be sure the seat is stable in your shower, you need to have a level floor area. My shower is large enough that I can move the seat to bridge over the center drain or put it in the corner and avoid the slanted floor going to the drain. It is light enough to take in and out of the shower if you don't want to use it. If my elderly mother's shower was large enough, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one for her, as it seems that it wouldn't ever dump someone off.

pretty, sturdy and durable Jul 07, 2008

This sturdy shower seat is everything I hoped for. The teak wood is beautiful and repels water nicely. The size is more than ample and yet fits well in a standard shower. The 4 legs are adjustable, which allowed me to position one shorter, in order to rest on a ledge while the others were positioned on the floor. This allowed better usage of shower space. Good value! I would definitely recommend.

TeakSpa Corner Shower Seat Jun 07, 2008
By Alice Oliver The teakspa shower seat lived up to my expectations. It does exactly what the manufacturer said that it would. It looks good, also. I expect to enjoy its use for many years.

works well for 92 year old woman Jan 09, 2011

it works well for a 92 year old woman. assembly instructions would have been nice (especially if being assembled by the target audience) but it went together easily with no tools.
