Negative 5 stars if possible, broke in 2.5 minutes Feb 23, 2007
By Natasha Stryker I got them out of the box, put the rubber base on and slipped them under my bed posts as recommended. I sat on the bed and BOOM! the two at the foot of my bed SHATTERED with just me on the bed (I am only 5'2"!!!) I bet all 4 would have exploded under the weight of me AND my 6' tall boyfriend.
These are promoted to help elderly people be able to get in and out of chairs, beds, etc. OMG, I cannot imagine the potential injury to someone who actually needs these due to arthritis or a hip replacement; we bought them just to have extra room under the bed.
Overall these feel cheap:
· They are hollow, so of course furniture will bust right through the top, it is only 1/8" thick!
· The wells to hold the feet of furniture look deep in picture but are VERY shallow (easy to shift out if they don't break first)
· You only get 4 rubber rings to put on bottom edge to protect floor, but you get 8 lifts. I bought them to use on our couch and bed, but I couldn't use both sets due to only 4 floor protectors
· They smell horrible out of the box
THANK GOODNESS Amazon has such a painless return policy.
PLEASE AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! They can potentially hurt you or your grandparents. They are not worth $25, not worth 25 cents!

Love it Sep 19, 2010
By stardust Was unable to adjust my chair due to pain in shoulder and hand. This allows me to do so. I was able to put it on the handle by myself,at age 82 years of age. The delivery was very fast, and price most reasonable I found was at Amazon.

Great Helpful Handle Feb 10, 2008
By M. R. Nance
"big river shopper"
I purchased this lever extender back in March 2007 for my husbands recliner. He couldn't bend to the side enough to be able reach his recliner lever to work it up and down. It works great! He can work it with no problem. I put the Standers Lever Extender on myself in about two minutes with the tool that was included in the package. I was able to tighten it on securely. Six months later took this handle off this recliner and put on his new one; still stays on tight. This lever also makes it possiable for someone standing beside the recliner to work the lever for the person in the recliner. Today I'd came back here to order one for my recliner! I'm a short person and have alot of trouble reaching the handle to get my recliner back or up. I'd known that I wanted one for my chair also but just hadn't got back to do it; and then I saw that I needed to write a reveiw to let everyone know this really works "buy it you'll like it"

Works great, very well made Oct 03, 2011
By sierraseven I bought this for my elderly father. He could pull the recliner lever back, but had a problem getting it pushed all the way forward. This lever extender solved the problem. It's very sturdily made, installed in just a couple of minutes with the included allen wrench. The handle has a grip-textured finish. The tubing it's made of is heavy grade, not flimsy, and the hardware is very good quality, too. Solved the problem and I expect that it will last for many years - probably longer than the chair.

Big Need for this Solution, Poor Design in the Execution Sep 20, 2011
By ErgoAnnie I am an Ergonomics Consultant with VERY short arms. This product looked like just what I needed to be able to reach the handle on my recliner without over-extending my right shoulded. I injured it about a year ago, and it has been difficult for me to reach the handle more than ever.
Unfortunately the design of the product made it only slightly easier for me to reach the handle and the hard metal handle stuck out into the walk way and I must have hit my leg on it 5 times before I decided to return it. I applaud Standers for their attempt at addressing this issue, but they missed the mark in my opinion when it came to design.
