The answer to my mom's TV viewing problems. The dementia was getting worse and all those tiny buttons on her remote confused her. She deprogrammed the TV frequently. What a great relief to not get 4 phone calls a day complaining the TV did not work. Just remember to take the original remote home or they will hunt it down! She could never find her teeth or hairbush but she seemed to have ESP when looking for the remote.

This remote would have been perfect for my elderly mother except for the fact that it does not work with Cable boxes. Luckily, our TV has a built-in cable card and we can get most cable stations by disconnecting the extra box (although now I no longer have any On-Demand or DVR capability). Also, if you have access to many stations it may take a while to navigate up/down to any specific station you're looking for.

I bought this for my 80 year old mother who has macular degeneration resulting in very limited eyesight. She loves this remote because of the six very large buttons that are easy to see and easy to operate. With her other remote, she kept hitting buttons that would change the set-up of her TV resulting in me having to re-do her set-up at least once a month. That won't happen with this remote. This remote is ideal for seniors and people with limited vision who simply want a remote to turn-on their TV and adjust the channels and volume. This product is very simple to program and works on almost all TV sets.

The Tek Pal Large Button TV Remote is great! I've bought my 82 year old father tons of things (telephones, clocks, etc.) for the visually impaired, and most were just too complicated. This remote is great. It programs in a heartbeat - first time that I didn't need help from my 13 year old son to do something technical. My dad loves this and wants another for his bedroom TV! Thank you, Tek Pal, for understanding what it means to be older and have vision problems and for finding a solution. I'll buy everything you make from now on.

Easy set-up. Great size - very hand friendly especially for arthritic joints. Six large buttons for the most-used functions. A very practical solution for replacing the old worn-out remote.
